I love this movie. I love it so much that I own it, thanks to my best kindred spirit girlfriend, who years ago noticed that I was checking it out so often from the library that she wanted to save me the trip and gave it to me for my birthday.

On a similar topic but without the "cheese," I'm taking the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge. Local participating quilt shops will take your donated handmade pillowcases to give to foster children, nursing home residents, battered women's shelters and cancer patients. The goal is 1 million pillowcases donated by the end of this year. There are free pillowcase patterns on the site to download, and here are the ones I put together:
So, why pillowcases? Imagine being away from home, losing your home, or not having a home. And imagine receiving a simple pillowcase that is unique and unlike any other, just like you. It's soft, comforting, beautiful, and it's YOURS. So consider sharing the love by participating.
Make a pillowcase, make a difference.

Love that movie and love your pillowcases even more. They are beautiful! I will go and download the pattern and see if I can get one under my belt. Maybe more if it turns out fun.
ReplyDeleteI love that movie too! - but its been ages since I've seen it. Thanks for sharing this great idea! I think it will be a wonderful activity for YW. Your pillowcases are beautiful!
